Our Four Winds project was featured in IMAGE Interiors as part of their Autumn / Winter 2024 edition.
The project involves the refurbishment and re-working of a 1940s seaside bungalow in Sutton, Co. Dublin, designed to accommodate the third and fourth generations of the same family. Enjoying south-facing views across Dublin Bay, the design explores how an existing coastal dwelling can be carefully adapted to support contemporary family life while remaining grounded in its setting.
Materials and forms were informed by nearby landmarks, including the Martello Tower, St Fintan’s Church by Andy Devane, and the Chapel of Mone in Kilbarrack. These references helped shape an architectural response that is rooted in place and attentive to the character of the surrounding coastal environment.
The project forms part of a wider body of work for the practice that engages with refurbishment, reuse, and the sensitive reworking of existing buildings. Four Winds was also selected for a Special Mention at the 2025 Architizer A+ Awards and formed part of the Irish Architecture Foundation’s 2024 Open House Dublin event.
We are very grateful to IMAGE Interiors for featuring the project and for the opportunity to share Four Winds with their readers.
