BRENNAN | FURLONG Architects, founded in 2015 by Gareth Brennan and Séamus Furlong, is an award-winning RIAI-registered practice based in Clontarf, Dublin. The practice is accredited in Conservation (Grade III), can act as Project Supervisors for the Design Process (PSDP) and holds full Professional Indemnity Insurance.
The work of the practice – a mix of residential and commercial projects - centres on the principle that the well-considered & carefully developed design of buildings and spaces we use every day helps to enrich and enliven our experience and interaction with the built environment.
Each project is viewed as a unique opportunity to collaborate with our clients and the design and construction team as a whole to develop the brief and maximise the potential of each site, incrementally improving our built environment, and our daily lives as individuals, families & communities.
The work of the practice has been published in a number of newspapers and magazines in Ireland such as The Irish Times, The Sunday Times, The Irish Independent, The Sunday Independent, Image Interiors, House + Design, The Gloss Magazine, House & Home Magazine, Plan Magazine & Irish Country Life Magazine with our Yew Lodge project featuring in “Home of the Year” on RTE Television in 2022.
Selected projects by the practice have featured in the annual Irish Architecture Foundation Open House Dublin event, held each October, with the practice giving tours to the public of completed projects as part of Open House every year since 2016.
The work of the practice has also received recognition through various architectural and design awards and short-listings. In 2017 the practice won a silver medal at “Bloom” for “Space to Collaborate” designed in conjunction with Tricia Harris. In 2018 our Double Pivot project was awarded a Special Mention at the AAI Awards. In 2022 our Stiles Road project won the award for best House Extension / Refurbishment at the Building and Architect of the Year Awards. Various other projects have been shortlisted for the Irish Design Institute Awards, the Irish Concrete Society Awards, the Building and Architect of the Year Awards and have been selected for exhibition by the RIAI as part of their annual architectural awards.
