CLONTARF ROAD

House Extension, DUBLIN 3

A mid-century building which had been converted to a poor-quality dwelling some time afterwards, bookending a terrace of Protected Structures.

The irregular geometry of the existing building was set out with reference to the adjacent terrace. The existing building is retained, re-modelled and a second storey added as a singular volume punctured to the front by a terrace, partially overhung by the new volume, affording views towards Dublin Port.  

 

Full planning permission for this project was secured in 2016.
